Essence in Art

Essence in Art is a series of conversations with artists whose works are part of the olorVISUAL contemporary art collection. The series explores the distinctiveness and significance of this collection, initiated in 1978 by perfumer, collector, and olfactory artist Ernesto Ventós, who selected artworks guided by his sense of smell. Each work evoked a specific scent for him. Drawing on his olfactory memory, Ernesto created a fragrance note to accompany each piece, extending the experience beyond the purely visual into a transdisciplinary one. With each episode, the series gives voice to the artists while offering a fresh perspective on Ernesto Ventós's legacy in today's context. Directed and hosted by Dessislava Pirinchieva.
